Treating Yourself After Lockdown – What’s On Your Wishlist?

After months of being in lockdown, hopefully there’s some light at the end of the tunnel. Rules are starting to get relaxed and here’s hoping we’ll still be able to enjoy the summer. It’s been a challenging time for everyone – homeschooling and food deliveries have been new adventures for everyone, but there have been some upsides too.

Not being able to go out or go shopping, or even using your car much has made it a little easier to save – something you probably never thought would be possible! With some extra cash saved up, you’ll have something to spoil yourself with after lockdown. But what will you spend it on?

Here are some suggestions for treating yourself after lockdown.

A holiday

While travel abroad might still be a long way off, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. Many travel companies are already issuing flights and holidays for summer 2021, which can give you something to look forward to.

If you prefer to holiday in the UK, there’s a lot of choices available here too! Take a look at some of the best UK holiday destinations and plan something fun when travel is allowed!

A new car

A new car always makes an exciting purchase, especially if your current car has seen better days. With a more generous deposit, you can afford to get a better car and really treat yourself. The new Suzuki range is worth a look if you’re after something stylish and affordable. A new car could be just what you need for getting around again once lockdown is over.

Some well-deserved pampering

The beauty industry has taken a significant hit from coronavirus – and it could be a while before salons and spas open again. But when they do, supporting them by booking a load of beauty treatments while also looking after yourself, is an excellent idea. Enjoy a makeover with new hair, nails and a spa treatment or two – you’ll feel nice and refreshed and ready to enjoy the summer!

A home makeover

If there are things on your home to-do list that haven’t been possible because of lockdown, you’re probably itching to get them done. From garden makeovers to internal works, there’s a lot you could do as a post-lockdown treat (or necessity!) to get your home in order. It’s worth checking with different companies to see what measures they’re adopting during lockdown to make sure you can keep your home safe.

Treating yourself after lockdown will help lift your spirits and give you something to look forward to. But if you want to put your savings to good use, you can also make sure you put them away to use in case of unexpected costs in the future. Whatever you decide, you should be proud that you’ve been able to build up some savings over the last couple of months. Who knows, maybe you’ll adopt better money habits going forward?
