Now I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy I am starting to think ahead to Summer and what I will be wearing and how I will be dressing my postpartum body. I’ve got to be honest, I’m not relishing the idea of having to find clothing to; keep me cool, suit my weird shape, and that I can breastfeed in discretely as I am a bit of a novice at it and will no doubt be self-self-concious.
I think this might be a common thing, as I have spoken to my sister and she felt the same, but after I’ve had a baby I feel like my style changes. I look at my old clothes and wonder what on earth I was thinking.
I’ve put together two outfits I’d love for Summer. For the first outfit I wanted something floaty and light for those really warm days and so I chose this gorgeous maxi dress. I love how the dress has a sheer floaty panel to help hide any lumps and bumps – there are lots of similar styles available too. I paired the dress with these embellished sandals; which are also available here from JD Williams. I accessorised with a simple pair of sunglasses from H&M.
My second outfit choice is a bit more ‘mum on the run’ for an everyday look. I’ve been seeing these pinafore dresses everywhere and I immediately thought how good they’d be for breastfeeding. I’ve kept it light and summery with a pop-over shirt from Joules in a classic stripe. The shirt unbuttons at the front and so I am able to feed quite discretely once I have undone the dress. I chose a pair of White Converse to keep the look casual and comfortable.
I’m hoping we’ll see some proper sunshine soon and I’ll get to treat myself to a few of these pieces. How did you feel about your style postpartum and what do you plan to wear this Summer?
