Our babymoon at Barnsley House, Cirencester

I’ve already published a little vlog about our time at Barnsley House, just outside Cirencester but I also took some lovely photos which I know I will want to look back on.  I’ll try and keep the write up brief, as the saying goes, a picture paints a thousand words!

It wasn’t really booked as a babymoon, in fact my husband bought it for me/us as our Christmas present. Barnsley House was where Matt and I stayed after our wedding in 2013 and so it holds some special memories for us.  We’ve stayed in three different rooms now and they’re all as beautiful as each other in different ways.  One of my favourite rooms has a jacuzzi/hot tub on the mezzanine level but seeing as I’m pregnant Matt opted for a bedroom on the top floor of the main house – a beautiful room with beams and a huge standalone bath.  The views from the bedroom are stunning as you’ll see from the photographs below.

We stayed for two nights and ate like kings! Matt and I aren’t ones for small portions of fancy food, we like good, honest food in plentiful amounts and that’s certainly what we got.

Our stay included a spa treatment and so I had a mum to be massage whilst Matt had a hot stone massage.  It was seriously the best decision I’ve made for a long time.  I was a bit worried about having it done but I felt as light as a feather for some time following the massage.  Suffice to say that feeling has long worn off! Nevermind.  We then whiled away some time in the outdoor pool.  It was pure bliss for 48hrs!

I’d love to know if you plan on having a babymoon – let me know in the comments section below 🙂

If you’ve got a spare 10 minutes, how about you watch our vlog?

Thanks Rebecca! It was over in a flash but I’m so glad we made time to do it before baby x

OH WOW! This looks absolutely divine. Just had a gander on their website and sadly, a bit out of our price range at the moment after a VERY expensive month of vets’ bills! Little Pickle’s Dad is currently gallivanting off in the French Alps on a skiing holiday and I’m desperately jealous and would love a Babymoon… sadly, looks like our finances won’t stretch to it. Boo hoo hoo.

It was a massive surprise and I did tell hubby off for spending so much!! You should try and squeeze a little break in-it’ll be worth every penny! X
