June Favourites

Hey! How are you? I hope the sun is finally shining where you are. We’ve had torrential rain for last week or so but today….the sun has got his hat on!

Hurrah!

It’s supposed to be sunny for the next few days and into the weekend so that’s something to look forward to. We’re actually taking the youngest two on a little surprise trip to Peppa Pig World this weekend as the older two are away doing various different things with family. It will feel strange having two kids….easy probably!

Anyway, with all the rain this month I’ve been loving this raincoat from Stutterheim. It was kindly sent to me and I’ve been putting it through its paces. I’m in love. The colour, the fit, the details….it’s right up my street and I’ve had lots of compliments on it too. The length is great for the school run as it keeps me really dry – including my legs. The hood stays up (so annoying when hoods barely cover your head) and is large enough to protect any make up I may have on from sliding off my face.

As we’ve been spending a lot of time indoors, due to aforementioned rain, we finally got around to joining the library and I have rediscovered my love of reading. I’m on to my second book in about three weeks (I am not a fast reader) and I can’t put my current book down – it’s Paige Toon’s ‘Five Years From Now’. I saw it recommend by a book you tuber (is that even a thing?!) and thought I’d give it a go.

The story follows a couple who met in childhood and, every fiver years of their life from the age of five, they meet again and it’s about how their lives change but still they remain connected. It’s sad, gripping, sweet – just a little of everything and just when you think you know what happens you jump ahead five years and something completely off the radar happens which I love as it keeps the story moving.

My next two favourites are both fitness related. If you follow me on Instagram (please come over and say ‘hi’) you may have seen I have been pounding the pavements and hitting the gym in an attempt to get fitter. Now the weather is finally turning I am enjoying running outside a lot more but I was never sure where to put all my stuff….keys, phone etc. So, I did a little research, which included joining a running community on Facebook, and I discovered Flip Belt.

Essentially it’s a band of stretchy fabric. However, it has slits throughout to house your belongings. The pocket is one long continuous cavity all the way around the belt so theres plenty of room and there’s also a clip to secure a key on to as I would worry it might slide out otherwise. I wear the Flip Belt under my clothes as I just find that comfier though I have seen them being worn on top which obviously provides greater access to the pockets whilst running. The belt can be worn on the waist or hips but I find mine feels most comfy around my waist.

My final favourite for June are my Gym Shark leggings. I was hesitant to spend the money on them as they’re around £50 but they’re worth every penny. They feel like a second skin, they keep me cool and most importantly they don’t budge. No riding up or rolling down. I was actually shocked at how cool I felt wearing them as at first feel they seem to be a thick knit. I don’t know how they work but I’ve never felt sweaty or ‘damp’ (cringe) in them. I’d invest in more pairs given half a chance.

I hope you enjoyed this post and perhaps found it useful?! What are your current favourites? If you’d like to see more posts like this…perhaps every month then just let me know in the comments below.
